Does your community have an abandoned building, old gas station or other potentially contaminated property that is impeding your community's future growth? If so, you will want to attend the free brownfields workshop being co-hosted by the City of Norfolk, the Nebraska Department of
Environmental Quality, Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District (NENEDD) and the Technical Assistance to Brownfields Program (TAB) at Kansas State University.
This workshop is designed to:
- Help communities gain a better understanding of what a Brownfield is.
- Learn how Brownfield revitalization can be a part of your community's economic development strategy.
- Hear from state and national leaders on resources available to your community.

On Friday, September 5, 2014, the Nebraska Diplomats hosted their 47th annual Passport Weekend at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln. There,The City of Norfolk received the Community of the Year award.
